  • Invented by John Napier in 1617.
  • Napier’s bones was the first practical calculator and was mainly known for its success in the field of logarithms. Mainly was involved with Multiplication and Division, but soon became useful for other mathematical operations.
  • Napier’s Bones was not a predecessor as it was the very first of its technology.
