the cray 1 is the first supercomputer made by cray research, and the first supercomputer to successfully implement the vector processor design, it is one of the most successful supercomputers around selling over 1 hundred copies but it does have a very unique shape, being a relatively small c shaped cabinet with benches spread throughout it. it was annouced in 1975.
